Introducing....

Lucy Lea
Arrived July 14, 2014 at 8:10 am
8 lbs 3 oz
20"

AND she's already 1 month old!

I was told that time flies with the second child and, unfortunately, there is a lot of truth in that statement.  This past month has been so fun.  My favorite part of having two children is watching how much Calvin already loves his baby sister.  He, so badly, wants to play with Lucy.  He likes showing her rattles and other baby toys and he thinks it's great when we are holding Lucy while pretending that she is chasing him around the house.  If her foot or hand ever gazes his, he takes it as an automatic invite to tickle his sister back.  He provides her with countless hugs, kisses, tickles, and pats on the head.  I can't wait to watch them grow up together (and I will come back to read this as they are screaming and hitting each other...ha!).

This blog is used to give the grandparents something to read on a rainy afternoon, but I am also using it for the kids' baby books.  So, to keep things fair, the tradition will continue with monthly updates.

  • Stats: 10 lbs 10 oz and roughly 23" long. I am already in "second child" mode.  I was told by the pediatrician at Lucy's two week appointment that I was a "seasoned mom who appeared to have things under control" and there was no need for me to make an appointment for her 1 month check up.  That sounded great to me!
  • Sleep: Lucy struggles with spitting up and a gassy belly so sleeping isn't something she and mom do a lot of at night.  Some nights are definitely better than others, but she can sleep 4 hours+ between feedings when she feels good.  I am changing my diet in hopes that she starts feeling better soon!
  • Eat: This girl nurses like a champ (lucky Dad) and has absolutely no regular eating or sleeping schedule.  She very much dislikes bottles and the paci.

Now, our past month in pictures.....

Delivery Day!

Not too happy about going home!

First bath :)

First playdate with Brooks

This was during my first trip to the store with both kids.  Getting them loaded into the cart wasn't too tough, but where am I supposed to put the groceries???

I had to sneak in a few pictures of this guy, too!  This past month Calvin received his first haircut.  He did great, but thankfully he still doesn't have enough hair to require a return visit anytime soon!

The only thing I can see similar between these two cuties is their double chins! :)

We love you all!
-CLAP (Calvin, Lucy, Anne, Patrick)
