6 weeks

This handsome little guy will be 6 weeks old tomorrow!

Like many new parents, we have jumped on the monthly sticker bandwagon.  Only difference is, this Mom doesn't quite have it all together and we were about 2 weeks late in taking our 1 Month photos.  Oh, well!  I am sure I will do much worse over the next 18 to......50 years!  Here are a few of his "pseudo" 1 Month photos....

For those of you who have yet to meet Calvin, you may be stunned by the size of his feet in the photo above.  This boy has some VERY large feet and 2 big toes like you've never seen before!  Of course, this just makes his Mom and Dad love him even more!  Dad is convinced that those feet and toes will come in very useful one day.....as a professional athlete.  :)

Calvin continues to sleep a lot during the day and gives us his best smiles during 1 am diaper changes.  We are loving our life as a family of 3!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Love,
PAC

Santa!

A neighborhood close to ours was hosting a Winter Wonderland yesterday and we got together with a group of friends to check it out and visit Santa.  Anytime there is snow, sledding, and ice skating advertised in Vegas on a 65 degree day, it is worth checking out.  It was a fun time, nonetheless, and Calvin got to meet Santa!  Since he hasn't had any shots and I found this Santa to be a little creepy, it turned out to be a family photo.  Try not to laugh.....just focus on Calvin :)

We are excited to be celebrating Christmas with our new little guy this year and we can't wait to be home in January!

1 Month...3 Days late.

I am a little late, but Calvin turned 1 month old on the 6th!  Yay!  We survived the first month!  At one month old there are not many things he can do now that he couldn't do at one week old.  I'm determined to come up with something, though....

  • Stats - 10 lbs (on the dot) and 22" long
  • Sleep - He is sleeping better!  Since his one month birthday, Calvin has been sleeping much better at night.  We are no longer getting up for feedings every 2-3 hours.  He is sleeping 4-5 hours at one stretch and 4 hours at the next.  This earns him many high-fives from his Mom and Dad in the middle of the night!
  • Eat - He is eating about 3 1/2 to 4 oz at each feeding.  Still eating every 3 hour during the day.  Still no luck with latching on, so lots of pumping, bottles and standing over the kitchen sink washing all items in our future.
  • Doctor's Appointment - Calvin had his 1 month check-up on the 6th and he got a little more than we bargained for!  Poor guy.  Patrick and I had noticed that Calvin was a little tongue tied and the Pediatrician agreed.  This earned him a quick snip of the frenulum.  He definitely took it better than his Mom.  With tears in my eyes, I just stared at the door and prayed for a steady hand of the doc as he gripped those big, sharp scissors.  Of course, Patrick was attempting to "assist" the doc, just in case he needed to perform this procedure at home on our next child!  (Not going to happen!)  Calvin's bellybutton has taken a little longer to heal than normal, so the doc applied a little silver nitrate to help speed up the healing process.
For the most part, we have a happy boy and can't complain.  He likes to sleep a lot and enjoys his play mat and books when he is awake.  Sunday's are filled with football with Dad and weekdays are filled with shopping with Mom.  The first month has been pretty awesome and we can't wait to see what this month holds (more sleep and smiles, hopefully)!

And what all the Grandmas and Grandpas really want to see....Pictures!  Enjoy :)

Caught a smile!

Thanks, Grandma Lea, for the stocking!

He and his Dad feel the same way about wearing a tie.

Getting a little annoyed with the photo shoot :)

Love you all!

Finally!!

Hello, all!  We finally have a blog!  YAY!!!  We know many of you live far away and we will be using this blog to keep family and friends updated on all the latest Calvin and Crew happenings.  I am hoping to post often and add lots of pictures and videos.

I am going to be doing some back tracking on Calvin's last 4 weeks, but here are a few pictures to hold you over until the next post.

A rare shot with his eyes open.

                                                      Napping.....his favorite hobby.

Posing with some post cards sent by Aunt Traci.

I'm off to feed a hungry boy!

Love,
PAC (Patrick, Anne & Calvin)
