6 Months!

How is our baby 1/2 of a year old!?  It sure has been a fun month!  Lucy celebrated her first Christmas and rang in her first New Year.  She is sitting up on her own, rolls all over the room, and has her very first tooth.  Her smile lights up the room and she has become quite smitten with her Daddy.

This age is one of my favorites.  My "to do" list is getting longer while nothing is getting marked off and I'm completely ok with that.  She won't think our games of peek-a-boo are funny forever so we'll just amuse her until that time comes.  As Calvin now likes to say with a furrowed brow, "Mommy/Daddy, I NO like it!"

  • Stats - 16 lbs 6 oz (54th percentile) and 27.75" long (98th percentile).
  • Sleep - What sleep?  Lucy is still up 1-2 times per night, except when she's getting a tooth.  Then she's up 4-5 times per night.  Thankfully she turns on that smile at all hours and I can't help but squeeze her tight!
  • Eat - This girl has a new found love in cereal.  She has eaten more cereal in 1-2 weeks than Calvin has eaten in his whole 2 years of life!  We're hoping to start some fruits and veggies soon, but I don't foresee there being any problem with her liking those. :)

I read a saying this holiday that went a little something like this - "I always thought Christmas morning as a kid was the best day ever until I got to celebrate Christmas morning as a parent."  This is so true for Patrick and me.

Christmas morning and sitting up on her own for the first time!

Here is a little video of our Christmas morning.

Calvin had a great Christmas and is still looks for Santa and some presents when he wakes up in the morning.  He has learned to ride his tricycle and loves going on rides in our neighborhood.

Santa made an appearance at the Steinmetz's on Christmas Eve and this was his face the entire time.

I am completely biased, but these are the 2 cutest 6 month olds I have ever seen!!  They are looking an awfully lot alike at this age.  Lucy is often referred to as "Mini Calvin" at daycare.
