1 Month...3 Days late.

I am a little late, but Calvin turned 1 month old on the 6th!  Yay!  We survived the first month!  At one month old there are not many things he can do now that he couldn't do at one week old.  I'm determined to come up with something, though....

  • Stats - 10 lbs (on the dot) and 22" long
  • Sleep - He is sleeping better!  Since his one month birthday, Calvin has been sleeping much better at night.  We are no longer getting up for feedings every 2-3 hours.  He is sleeping 4-5 hours at one stretch and 4 hours at the next.  This earns him many high-fives from his Mom and Dad in the middle of the night!
  • Eat - He is eating about 3 1/2 to 4 oz at each feeding.  Still eating every 3 hour during the day.  Still no luck with latching on, so lots of pumping, bottles and standing over the kitchen sink washing all items in our future.
  • Doctor's Appointment - Calvin had his 1 month check-up on the 6th and he got a little more than we bargained for!  Poor guy.  Patrick and I had noticed that Calvin was a little tongue tied and the Pediatrician agreed.  This earned him a quick snip of the frenulum.  He definitely took it better than his Mom.  With tears in my eyes, I just stared at the door and prayed for a steady hand of the doc as he gripped those big, sharp scissors.  Of course, Patrick was attempting to "assist" the doc, just in case he needed to perform this procedure at home on our next child!  (Not going to happen!)  Calvin's bellybutton has taken a little longer to heal than normal, so the doc applied a little silver nitrate to help speed up the healing process.
For the most part, we have a happy boy and can't complain.  He likes to sleep a lot and enjoys his play mat and books when he is awake.  Sunday's are filled with football with Dad and weekdays are filled with shopping with Mom.  The first month has been pretty awesome and we can't wait to see what this month holds (more sleep and smiles, hopefully)!

And what all the Grandmas and Grandpas really want to see....Pictures!  Enjoy :)

Caught a smile!

Thanks, Grandma Lea, for the stocking!

He and his Dad feel the same way about wearing a tie.

Getting a little annoyed with the photo shoot :)

Love you all!
